Warning: The fine will increase after twenty-one days of issuance, and increases again after late notice issued. The Registrar of Motor Vehicles may not renew your license to drive or vehicle registration and will charge an additional fee. Vehicle subject to tow with 5 or more unpaid violations.

Payment Information

Pay by mail using an envelope with a stamp. Insert the ticket with check or money order listing ticket number and plate number to ensure proper credit and make payable to:

Note:  Credits card payment are accepted, however, 3.2% of total payment amount, with a minimum fee of $3.00 will be added to all credit card parking citation payments.

Appeal Process

A hearing in person or a hearing by mail may be obtained upon written request of the registered owner within twenty-one days of the violation date to the Lawrence Parking Clerk, 200 Common Street, Lawrence, MA 01840. All requests for a hearing must include a contact phone number. Failure to obey this notice within 21 days from the date of the violation will result in additional late fees being imposed, and may also result in the non-renewal of the registered owner’s driver’s license and/or vehicle registration. M.G.L. Ch.90 - Sections 20A1/2-20C, and 20E as amended, and may also subject motor vehicle to tow and hold provisions of M.G.L. Ch.90 - Section 20A1/2. The law does not affect in any way the decision-making powers of the Parking Clerk or your right to appeal to Superior Court.

RMV Holds / Towing & Immobilization

Failure to pay, or appeal, a parking ticket within 21 days of the issuance date will result in additional penalties being imposed and may also result in:

  • The non-renewal of the registered owner’s driver’s license and/or vehicle registration as provided under M.G.L Ch 90, Sections 20A1/2 and 20E as amended.

  • Tow and hold provisions of Chapter 253 of the Act of 1973.
